5V to 600V dc-dc in a half inch cube

Called the AEQ series, all its members are 500mW converters (250mAin max), with different models giving a choice of outputs: 100V (5mA), 200V (2.5mA), 300V (1.67mA), 400V (1.25mA), 500V (1mA), 600V (833μA), ±50V (5mA), ±100V (2.5mA), ±150V (1.67mA), ±200V (1.25mA), ±250V (1mA) or ±300V (833μA).

Output voltage is proportional to between 100mV and 5V applied to the control pin, and is independent of the supply voltage, but load regulation can be as soggy as 30%.

“Output voltage is load-dependent”, according to the company. “At light or no-load conditions, the control pin must be compensated to allow the high voltage output to remain in the maximum rated output.”

An input capacitor of 10μF or less is suggested, plus an optional RC filter (1 – 10nF plus resistor to suit current) if ripple needs to be below the normal ≤1%.

All devices have UL/cUL and IEC-62368-1 safety approvals and ±1.5kV input-to-out isolation.

MTBF is estimated to be above 1,000,000 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F), and the package to >3,000,000 hours (Bellcore TR332).

Medical, life science, industrial and semiconductor-related applications are foreseen.

Advanced Energy is headquartered in Denver Colorado.
