Summer Science Exhibition 2022 returns in-person

The Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition runs Wednesday 6 – Sunday 10 July 2022, for free, offering interactive experiences for those curious about scientific and tech advances.

“Get hands-on with berry-powered solar cells, find out how you could join the hunt for unknown species in your back garden, or meet the scientists designing remote-healing technology,” says The Royal Society.

There are sixteen exhibits in total, seeking to answer questions such as: Are berries the key to the next generation of solar power? How could a llama help us against viruses? What if we could heal our bodies by remote control?

Saturday streaming

For those who can’t make it to London, there will be a live programme direct from the exhibition on YouTube. It will run 12 – 3 pm on the Saturday (9 July).

“Join award-winning engineers and communicators Anna Ploszajski and Roma Agrawal for an afternoon of remarkable science. From finding out how llamas are fighting viruses to what extreme space weather is and why it’s important, the Summer Science Exhibition will be streaming straight to you.”

The Royal Society is a Fellowship of eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence, having been founded over 350 years ago, in November 1660.
