OLED monitors have been on many people’s radar for quite some time and are just now starting to infiltrate the mainstream monitor market. The ASUS PA32DC is one such offering, making use of a ~32″ ‘4K’ UHD panel to provide excellent ‘desktop real estate’ and detail levels. This member of the ProArt series includes a regular stand with coated metal neck plus 2 small feet which can be attached instead for a low-profile look. A single-stage bezel design is employed, with the panel border covered almost entirely by a physical bezel. A detachable monitor hood is also included, to enhance glare-handing. The top of the screen houses a motorised colorimeter, which can flip down to take measurements for screen calibration when required. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by buttons and a joystick facing forwards towards the bottom right of the screen. An ambient light sensor is also included, allowing the monitor to adjust according to room lighting conditions.

The monitor uses a 31.5″ OLED panel manufactured by JOLED, with 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. A matte anti-glare screen surface is adopted, whilst a 1m:1 static contrast, 178°/178° viewing angles and true 10-bit colour is specified. The monitor has a regular RGB stripe subpixel layout and is factory calibrated with a specified DeltaE

The monitor responds to HDR10 content with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and also supports the HLG and Dolby Vision HDR formats. A 0.1ms grey to grey response time is specified – although we often say to ignore such specifications, OLED technology is known to be very strong in this department. The included ‘regular’ (desktop) stand includes full ergonomic flexibility, including 130mm (5.12 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. It can be removed to make way for an alternative 100 x 100mm VESA compatible solution, or to attach the feet for a low-profile look. A carrying handle is included towards the top, for convenience. The ports are located at the sides of the screen, so they’re easy to access even with the low-profile configuration. They include; a 3.5mm headphone jack, 3 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.4, USB-C (65W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), 4 USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and AC power input (internal power converter with ‘zero watt’ switch). 2 x 3W speakers are also included, whilst PiP and PbP is supported.
