UKESF stands for UK Electronics Skills Foundation, and the course covers, among other things, the basics of component level design from resistors to amplifiers, how we power satellites in space and real-world control systems in action.
The aim is that the student will develop their own skills in analysing, designing, and producing your own circuits.
It’s a MOOC, so it will always be available for you to start online at the beginning, but the free access is limited until 2 November… After that date, pricing starts from £32.
The University of Birmingham, in collaboration with the UKESF, developed the course, which is on the FutureLearn platform. Specifically, it is designed for pupils aged 15-18 who might be considering studying Electronics and Engineering in further education.
