The 34″ ultrawide experience suits some in terms of immersion and overall screen size. Combining this with strong HDR can really add extra depth to this for gaming and movie watching. The Philips 34M2C7600MV of the Evnia 7000 series offers such an experience. The monitor offers styling which diverges from many other monitors, with a marble-effect stand base and metallic silver bottom bezel. The top and side bezels are slender with a dual-stage design, with fairly slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen and slender hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear, towards the right side as viewed from the front.
A 34″ 3440 x 1440 (UWQHD, 21:9 ultrawide) VA panel is adopted, with 1500R (moderate) curve to draw you in a bit. A 165Hz refresh rate is supported along with Adaptive-Sync, allowing technologies such as AMD FreeSync and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used. A VRR range of 48 – 165Hz plus LFC is supported. Other aspects of note include a matte anti-glare screen surface, 3000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178 viewing angles and 10-bit colour (8-bit + FRC). A flicker-free 1152-zone Mini LED backlight delivers a 720 cd/m² (1400 cd/m² HDR peak, 900 cd/m² HDR sustained) maximum luminance and colour gamut of 97% DCI-P3, 92.9% Adobe RGB and 140% sRGB. The monitor is factory calibrated with DeltaE
A 2.5ms grey to grey response time is specified, but as usual pay little attention to such figures. The stand offers tilt, swivel and height (150mm or 5.91 inches) adjustment. 100 x 100mm VESA mounting is facilitated as an alternative. An array of ‘Ambiglow’ RGB LEDs are included at the rear along the top and side edges as well as running vertically down the centre and beneath the bottom bezel, customisable in the OSD. This feature creates a decent ‘halo’ of light around the monitor, lighting up the wall and desk a bit for added ambience. The ports face downwards and include; DC power input (external ‘power brick’), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 1.4, USB-C (90W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (plus Type-B upstream) and a 3.5mm audio output. 2 x 5W down-firing DTS speakers are also included. The monitor supports KVM for easy display input switching and USB peripheral sharing between 2 systems, alongside 2-way PiP/PbP support.
