Black Friday MacBook deals are starting early this year as the holiday season approaches. Although Black Friday 2022 isn’t until Nov. 25, retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are wasting no time rolling out early discounts.
For example, you can get the MacBook Air M2 for just $1,049 (opens in new tab) at Best Buy. It usually costs $1,199, so that’s $150 off and the MacBook Air M2’s lowest price yet. It’s also $50 cheaper thanAmazon’s current price (opens in new tab) which makes it one of the best early Black Friday MacBook deals out there.
Over the M1-powered MacBook Air, the MacBook Air M2 boasts a new design and performance enhancements. It has a 13.6-inch (2560 x 1664) Liquid Retina display, Apple M2 8-core processor, 8-Core GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. Connectivity-wise, the MacBook Air M2 supplies you with a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports, headset jack and a MagSafe charging port.
In our MacBook Air M2 review, we praise its elegant redesign, good performance and bright, colorful screen. Its battery endured 14 hours in our Laptop Mag Battery test which is impressive. We gave the MacBook Air M2 an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5-stars and our Editor’s Choice Award. In Geekbench 5 overall performance testing, the MacBook Air M2 notched a score of 8,919. This molly wops the MacBook Air M1’s benchmark score of 5,962.
Boasting power, portability, and endurance, the MacBook Air M2 is one of the best laptops money can buy.
Although early Black Friday MacBook deals are starting now, we expect to see more aggressive deals within the days leading up to and on Black Friday. Similar to last year, we predict the best Black Friday deals of 2022 will take up to $600 off various configurations.

When is Black Friday 2022
Black Friday takes place on Friday, November 25 this year, since Black Friday traditionally occurs on the day after Thanksgiving. While that’s the official date of this year’s Black Friday shopping event, most of the sales actually begin before the big day.
In fact, we saw some of the best Black Friday deal previews in early October. Although Black Friday is a one-day shopping event, over the years it’s morphed into a whole season of discounts. These sales now span from early October through the end of December.
What stores have the best Black Friday MacBook deals?
Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, and Walmart typically offer the best Black Friday MacBook deals. Newegg carries discontinued older models and refurbished MacBooks dating as far back as 2014. You’ll also find various configurations of previous-gen and latest MacBooks here.
If you’re near one, MicroCenter is a local hidden gem that offers excellent in-store only Black Friday MacBook deals. You can conveniently place an order online for pick up at a location near you. Although MicroCenter is open on Black Friday we recommend you call ahead to check for store times.
The best Black Friday MacBook deals will be right here of course. We’re tracking and comparing MacBook discounts across retailers to ensure you get the lowest price.
Are MacBooks cheaper on Black Friday?
The short answer is yes. MacBooks are in fact cheaper on Black Friday. However, this year is quite different given that Black Friday MacBook deals are starting now.
Black Friday is now a little over two weeks away which begs the question, “Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a MacBook?” Given that we’re so close to Black Friday, ee recommend waiting as retailers could do a “shock drop” MacBooks within the coming weeks.
Keep in mind that select retailers are extending returns times on items purchased and in some instances offer Black Friday price guarantees. Should the price go lower, you can either get a price adjustment or return the item and buy it again to get the deal price.
