Automotive dc-dc converter IC for ADAS

BD9S402MUF-C operates at 2MHz and can deliver 4A at outputs down to 0.6V.

Load response is fast: “The ability to suppress voltage output variation within 5% even at output voltages below 1.0V makes it ideal for secondary power supplies for the latest ADAS”, according to the company.

Manipulating the IC’s ‘Gain’ pin allows priority to be switched between ‘voltage fluctuation’ – for best stability to, for example, power an SoC with fast load fluctuations – and ‘capacitance reduction’ to balance stability with the need for capacitance when some fluctuation can be tolerated – to power a microcontroller, for example.

30mV fluctuation is possible with 5Vin, 1.2Vout, 44µF output capacitance and a 0 to 2A load change over 2µs, said the company.

Packaging is 3 x 3 x 1mm wettable flank VQFN16VF3030.

The part is sampling now, and mass production is scheduled for April 2023. Distributors Digi-Key, Mouser and Farnell will carry it.
