Benchtop scope has DVM, frequency counter, and a whole lot more

“The 3000G X-Series adds eight new standard features plus seven-in-one functional integration into the same form factor as Keysight’s 3000T and 3000A X-Series instruments,” according to RS componments, which is stocking the instrument. It performs such functions as interpolations, logic channel plotting, serial bus decoding and measurements in hardware.”

An update rate of over one million waveforms per second is claimed. There is a choice of two of four analogue input channels, and a option of 16 digital channels which are time correlated  to the analogue channels.

RS lists the eight features as including waveform and measurement histograms, mask limit testing, measurement limit testing, trigger and decode on five protocols, HDTV video analysis, and a LAN/VGA connectivity module.

Frequency response analysis is there to characterise the frequency response of, for example, passive filters, amplifiers and switch-mode power supply feedback networks.

A 20MHz function and arbitrary waveform generator provides a stimulus output to the device under test, and supports AM, FM and FSK sine, square and ramp modulation.

The three-digit digital voltmeter operates through the same probes as the oscilloscope channels, but makes measurements independently, then there is an eight-digit counter and totaliser for frequency measurement.

The display is an 8.5in touchscreen, and the units measure 381 x 204 x 142mm.
