Apex TG.66 from Taoglas is a hinged monopole antenna designed to cover all global 5G and 4G frequencies between 600MHz and 6GHz.
“Despite its miniature size, the TG.66 has omnidirectional radiation patterns and provides stable gain across the hemisphere,” according to distributor Anglia, which is stocking the part. “The antenna packs a punch for its size, with efficiencies above 45% across the entire 5G/4G spectrum when positioned on the edge of a 120 x 45mm ground plane.”
It is 70mm long, 10mm in diameter with a polycarbonate housing, and is terminated in a straight SMA male connector.
To assist fitting it in a variety of locations, or to improve coverage in MIMO installations, it has a hinge part-way along.
Operation is over -40 to 85°C.
Anglia sees it being used in gateways, routers, IoT sensors, public safety equipment, security equipment, point-of-sales terminals, smart homes, robots and autonomous equipment.
