
The heir to Samsung, vice chairman Jay Y Lee (pictured), has been pardoned for trying to bribe a South Korea president.-
He is the grandson of Samsung’s founder Lee Byung-chul and son of Lee Kun-Hee who was chairman if Samsung until his death in 2020, since when the chairmanship has been left vacant.
It is now expected that Jay Y. Lee will become chairman.
He was sentences to 30 months in jail and spent 18 months in prison before being released on parole a year ago.
“I will try harder to give back to society and grow together,” said Lee.
